Frequently asked questions
-
What's IRC? What's DCC?
-
IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat and is basically the oldest, if not "the
original" form of chatting via the Internet. DCC stands for Direct Client
Connection and refers to direct connections between IRC clients whereas
communication usually goes via a network of IRC servers. A "DCC send" is the
same as an upload, it simply carries a special name.
If you never had contact with IRC before, I suggest you go visit
irchelp.org.

I can't find anything to download! I can't get it to work!
-
Sure you can't. The reason being that the whole thing is under development!
Which means it hasn't reached a stage yet, where you can just download and use it.
-
So... when will you have a downloadable version?
-
The moment I have a downloadable version.
I know that sounds like a silly answer, but actually you asked a silly question.
I have a lot of other things to do and develop this project in my spare time
and currently without any help, so I can't predict when I will have something
useful ready.
-
And why does the whole website look like it's ready?
-
Because that motivates me, hehe :)
-
What's the deal with that "Who needs Jazz when there's Metal?" slogan?
What is it that you have against Jazz?
-
Nothing!
The story behind that slogan is actually a rather simple story: a
friend of mine, let's call him Alphapogo, also known as Chefkoch, has been
displaying an unusual high interest in Jazz music considering his age (woah,
now that's cliché, eh?). And that slogan was just the result of me
teasing him. Made that slogan cool enough to adopt it as the preliminary
MetalServe slogan.
So, no, I don't have anything special against Jazz music. It's just that it's
mostly people who are a lot older than me who listen to Jazz. But don't worry,
MetalServe will happily offer any file, even if it's Jazz music =)
