Visions and ideas

I've repeatedly heard the suggestion to also implement client or "getting" capabilities, effectively replacing the need for a desktop PC running mIRC (or XChat or whatever) and a script such as AutoGet. I've always (and I'm still) deferring such ideas to the future, let's first get MetalServe running.

But, while we're spectaculating about possible features, I've found some interesting links that gave me a idea or two, maybe they're something for you as well:

The first four because of the proxy idea, to which a client could connect to both control the serving/getting application and still chat or whatever. Something to think about. The latter because I wouldn't hesitate to build in SSL support if only there were more IRC servers providing SSL-protected access.
